Concept

Pocketbook is a interview publication that amplifies women's voices by showcasing the contents of their bags, facilitating discussions on gender, femininity, identity, and personal safety without the focus on physical appearance.

Through imagery and narratives, we discuss femininity collaboratively, empowering women to share their stories authentically across print and digital platforms.

Obstacle + Solution

Women often face scrutiny based on their appearance, hindering their ability to express themselves and address important issues such as gender equality, personal safety, and identity.

Pocketbook addresses these obstacles by shifting the focus away from physical appearance to the stories and experiences of women.

Through the use of scanned items, the publication provides a platform for women to share their narratives without fear of judgment. By offering accessibility through print and digital formats, including an application form for submissions, it fosters inclusivity and collaboration.
